According to recent surveys, accession to the European Union is considered to be a vital strategic option for the country by the majority of people in the Republic of Moldova. Over 70% of those questioned stated they would cast a positive vote in a referendum on Moldova’s accession to the EU. Some 30% were ready to support the option of Moldovan integration into NATO.
