Visa Research in Motion

Raül Hernández i Sagrera, a Visiting Research Fellow at the International Centre for Policy Studies (ICPS) in Kyiv, has produced a video in which he presents the findings of a policy brief he wrote for the think-tank. He argues that Ukraine will have an incentive to reform only if the Action Plan-based technical approach to gaining visa-free status is credible.

I like the idea of presenting a policy brief in this manner. While there’s nothing wrong with reading the brief on paper (it is available for download here),  we do live in the age of video, which can be an immediate and compelling media — if done right. Here at PASOS, we have made the creation of original video content for our YouTube Channel and website a pillar of our communications strategy.

This is an excellent idea. I am not sure about the decision makers, but presenting policy briefs through video, seems like an intelligent and way to advocate and transmit findings to the widest array of domestic and international stakeholders. Quite convenient.
