Strengthening EU democracy support as a task for Czech and Polish Presidencies

The Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) in Poland has invited a group of experts specializing in democracy support as well as diplomats and representatives of non-governmental organizations that undertake activities in that field. Minister Krzysztof Stanowski and David Král, Director, EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, have confirmed their participation in the meeting as speakers. Below is a detailed programme of the seminar. The meeting is organized within the framework of Polish-Czech Forum.

Recent political changes in the North Africa have shown how important supporting democracy in European neighbourhood is. Therefore, the discussion will concern the efforts of the Polish EU presidency to intensify EU democratization activities and progress in establishing European Endowment for Democracy, promoted by Poland in the EU. Experiences of the Czech EU Presidency in strengthening EU democracy support will be discussed.
