Policy experts from the Association for Participatory Democracy ADEPT presented lawmakers with three draft law proposals at a December conference on election reform held in Chisinau. The ADEPT recommendations include proposals to complete the law on electoral bodies of the Gagauz autonomous territorial unit, a law on the election of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, and a law on election of the Bashkan (the governor) of Gagauzia.

 

The EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy has launched a project to strengthen the influence of Egyptian think-tanks in public policy articulation, including their ability of being a relevant partner to the government in reform and democratisation. The year-long project, which will draw on the Czech experience during transition to democracy, includes training sessions in Egypt, tours of think-tanks in Prague for Egyptian analysts, and mentoring for the publication of four policy briefs by Egyptian think-tanks.

The Center for Social and Economic Research (CASE) in Warsaw is providing the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs of the European Parliament (EP) with a research study on the financial participation of employees in companies’ proceeds. The aim is to provide the EP with an up-to-date, comprehensive picture of the latest development in this area. The study is based on interviews, existing available data, relevant documents of national and international institutions,  and CASE expertise. The final aim is to provide the EP with policy recommendations.
